Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month On Martha's Vineyard
Martha's Vineyard Community Services is shining a spotlight on the frequency, and emotional and physical toll, of teen dating violence.
MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — One in three teens will experience emotional, physical or sexual violence abuse by someone they are in a relationship with before they become an adult, according to Martha's Vineyard Community Services. The group's CONNECT to end violence MV campaign has chosen February to shine a spotlight on the frequency, and both emotional and physical toll, of teen dating violence.
CONNECT has a month filled with activities and opportunities to help spread awareness and stop dating abuse before it starts. Pink Shirt Day will be celebrated on Feb. 26 this year to help stand united in the face of teen bullying on the island.
Those in high school are invited to join @uproot.mv as they bring themed days to your local school and give out prizes.
