Thrift Shop Fixture Dolly Campbell To Retire
Campbell has been with the the MVCS thrift shop for 15 years.

Dolly Campbell, a much loved fixture at the, will be retiring from the job she held for 15 years, MVCS has announced.
Campbell started off as a volunteer when the Thrift Shop was on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. She quickly realized that the all-volunteer staffed store needed a manager and stepped in to fulfill that role, one which she held until two years ago, when Sandy Pratt became manager and Campbell stepped down to assistant manager to allow her more time to travel.
Dolly and her husband Bruce Campbell moved to the Vineyard from Washington, D.C. in 1971. Her family has had a summer home here since 1939 and Dolly was a longtime summer Vineyard resident before relocating full-time. Before Campbell took on the job at the Thrift Shop, she worked at a number of retail jobs on the Island, and briefly had her own store, Vineyard Gourmet, in Vineyard Haven.

The Thrift Shop was established in 1962 to benefit MV Community Services and to provide a resource of affordable goods for members of the community. Currently the store is staffed by 50 volunteers.
