Vineyard-Based Medical Marijuana Group Likes Bourne Go-Kart Site for Dispensary
Could the Bourne go-kart track become a medical marijuana facility? A nonprofit founded on the Vineyard has identified Cartwheels 2 on Rte. 28 as a place to set up shop, if the town is amenable.
One of four Martha's Vineyard-based organizations seeking state permission to dispense medical marijuana on the Island and Cape Cod has identified a location in Bourne where it would like to set up shop.
According to a post on the Kingsbury Group's Facebook page, the nonprofit formed by Oak Bluffs residents Jordan Wallace and headed by his father Mark is looking at a go-kart track and family fun center on Rte 28:
"The Kingsbury Group, a nonprofit based on the Cape and Martha's Vineyard, has approached the town of Bourne about turning the Cartwheels 2 family fun center into one of the first licensed marijuana dispensaries in the state," reads the post.
Founded in late 2013 by then-teenaged Jordan Wallace of Oak Bluffs, the Kingsbury Group is helmed by his father Mark, a former Oak Bluffs planning board member. The Wallaces own local businesses including Jim's Package Store, Phillips 66 and Sand Bar & Grill.
