TISBURY, MA — The west arm of Lagoon Pond in Tisbury is closed to shellfiishing after the Division of Marine Fisheries determined the portion of the pond has "unacceptable water quality." Digging, harvesting or collecting, or attempting to dig, harvest or collect, shellfish from the area is now prohibited.

The prohibition now extends from the town boat ramp to the "No Shellfishing" sign at the northern end of Cedar Neck. The restricted area also includes the areas of Tisbury and Oak Bluffs south of the Beach Road Bridge, west of a line drawn in an arc extending 100 feet westerly into Lagoon Pond from the mouth of Brush Pond.

A full of the closed areas can be found here.
