West, a former school social worker with deep regional ties, plans to honor existing traditions while collaborating with staff on student-centered improvements, and is already familiar to some through the SAIL summer program.

Mattapoisett dangerous dog complaint dismissed (theweektoday.com) — Mattapoisett’s Select Board has dismissed a dangerous dog complaint against Theo, a three-year-old rottweiler, after testimony from the owner, witnesses and Animal Control Officer Luke Mello described the dog as calm and friendly. Board members even questioned whether the complainant’s dog might instead pose a risk, urging residents to formally report any aggressive incidents in the town where a dog is housed.
