Mattapoisett dangerous dog complaint dismissed (theweektoday.com) ā Mattapoisettās Select Board has dismissed a dangerous dog complaint against Theo, a three-year-old rottweiler, after testimony from the owner, witnesses and Animal Control Officer Luke Mello described the dog as calm and friendly. Board members even questioned whether the complainantās dog might instead pose a risk, urging residents to formally report any aggressive incidents in the town where a dog is housed.

Police: Suicide urged by girlfriend (bostonherald.com) ā Mattapoisett readers will recognize this tragedy touching a local family, as Conrad Roy IIIās grandparents speak from their Mattapoisett home about the loss of their grandson and the charges against his girlfriend. Lakeville cyclist to ride 80 miles for his 80th birthday (theweektoday.com) ā An 80-year-old Lakeville cyclist is marking his milestone birthday with an 80-mile fundraising ride that will pass through Mattapoisett, Marion, Plymouth and other nearby towns. His goal is to support the Matthew Mission Food Pantry in Taunton, which serves families across the region, including communities close to Mattapoisett.
