On Thursday evening at Medfield High School's Senior Recognition Night, the tradition of dedicating the class yearbook continued. This year, the Class of 2014 Yearbook was dedicated to former MHS Math teacher and Golf Coach George Callahan who passed away in November. Yearbook Advisor, Elizabeth Randolph, along with the Yearbook Independent Study students announced the Yearbook dedication and presented Diane Callahan, escorted by her close friend and former teacher, Bernie Shea the first yearbook. The following is Elizabeth Randolph's speech.
Good evening and congratulations seniors, I would like to invite the Yearbook independent study students to join me on stage: Kelsey McKenzie, Brianne Lawler, Olivia Driscoll, and editors Paige Garty, Kaitlyn Shapira, Emma Rhonstock, and Meggie Yanchich.
I’m honored to join my students in announcing the recipient of the dedication of the 2014 yearbook. However, this is year’s is incredibly bittersweet: we are paying tribute to an amazing man’s legacy here at MHS, however, he is no longer with us to receive this honor. On November 6, 2013, our community lost George Callahan, but his memory will live on in the pages of the yearbook through the words of those he touched as a teacher and coach:

It is my privilege to present this yearbook to George’s wife, Diane Callahan.
Additional photos of Coach Callahan were taken in May of 2013 at Medfield High School when he was honored at the Athletic Award night for his years of coaching in Medfield.
