Wheelock School's Rocky Woods Feast is an extraordinary annual event held at Rocky Woods Reservation. With a bit of a chill in the air and the colorful trees all around, this year’s third graders experienced a memorable and unique to Medfield day!
The students learned many of the skills needed in the days of the Pilgrims, such as cooking, fishing, archery and learning to make a campfire to cook.

Wheelock School Principal, Donna Olson would like to give thanks to all of the volunteers, staff and parents who made this annual event possible, especially Rocky Woods Parent Coordinator, Karen Vazquez.
Some of the Wheelock teachers come with much Rocky Woods Feast "teacher" experience. This was Mrs. Sheehan's 24th year, Mrs. Watson's 23rd year and Mr. Kuehl's 22nd year taking part in the 3rd Grade Rocky Woods Thanksgiving Feast.

A big thank you goes out to the exceptional Wheelock team - Mrs. Olson, Mrs. Reddy, Mrs. DiGregorio, Miss Fournier, Mr. Stevens, Mrs. Keigen, Mrs. Coughlin, Ms. Hevey, Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Trikoulis, Mrs. Newton, Mrs. Callahan, Mr. Kuehl, Mrs. Lynn, Mrs. Sheehan, Miss Parker and a special thank you to retired teacher, Mr. Slason who returned this year to help.
Also the Wheelock staff thanks the Master Gardeners for their help with the bountiful harvest; Sara Drumm, Minta Hissong and the Medfield Girl Scout leaders for making and tending the fires and overseeing the cooking process.
"Without the Girl Scouts, the day simply could not happen. The Rocky Woods Feast is a parent-driven program and the day would not be possible without the 20 parents per class who come and volunteer not only for their child's experience but for all Wheelock students", said Vazquez.
