On July 14, MEMO, with host Beginning Years Child Development Center, will present a special treat for the kids, as well as the whole family, when the Green Apple Kids band performs an interactive program. Jackie, Rob and Steve love to celebrate the earth with their eco-tunes.

It definitely will be worth a trip to downtown Medfield for these two concerts. All concerts in this summer series are free and Gazebo Park is a perfect place for a picnic supper, brought from home or purchased at area food establishments. Perhaps, the farmer's market on North Street, open until 5:30 pm, is worth checking out for some treats to bring to the park. The atmosphere is relaxed and kids are not only welcome, but are a major part of the entertainment as they dance to the music. Bring your own chairs or blankets and enjoy MEMO’s gift to Medfield each Thursday.

The 10-week Summer Concert Series, offered by MEMO, the Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, is funded in part by Needham Bank, the corporate sponsor. Unfortunately, the band "Infractions" was rained out on June 23 and will not be rescheduled this year. In event of future rain cancellations, the library will host a family friendly movie in the meeting room on the lower level of the library at approximately 6:30 p.m. in place of the concert. They hope families will take advantage of this new program in collaboration with MEMO for rainy Thursday evenings.

The Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, MEMO, is the local business organization similar to a Chamber of Commerce.  Member dues, profits from the annual fall fair, Discover Medfield Day, and corporate sponsors and member support make it possible to host many events throughout the year including: the holiday tree lighting and parade, Discover Medfield History Day, flags flown through the business districts on national holidays and scholarships to graduating seniors at Medfield and Tri County Regional Vocational High Schools.

MEMO’s mission is to promote local area business, industry and professionals as a resource for the residents. Membership is open to all doing business in or serving Medfield. Additional information may be found on the MEMO website www.medfield-memo.org. Meetings are held monthly September through June for networking among members and educational and informative programs relating to business. Membership information may be obtained from membership chairman Russ Hallisey, russ.hallisey@verizon.net.
