Babe Ruth: Medfield-Milford World Series Opener Suspended to Wednesday

Game one of the Medfield vs. Milford Senior Babe Ruth World Series will resume in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Curt Schilling Field.

Mother nature took game one of the Central Massachusetts Senior Babe Ruth League World Series between Medfield and Milford Tuesday evening at Schilling Field.

The teams were able to play through the top of the first inning thanks to the quick work of Medfield Starting pitcher Joe Shebertes, who mowed down the top of the Milford batting order, one-two-three, tallying two strikeouts.

Then the lightning came as Medfield's Gil Adams made his way to the batter's box, resulting in a 30-minute delay at 5:35 p.m. Rain followed and the game was inevitably suspended until Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Schilling Field. Play will resume in the bottom of the first inning with Medfield batting.

"It was a quick top of the first but then Mother Nature got in the way," said Medfield coach Kevin Glasheen.
