Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Invites Community to Free “Conversations on Cancer” Educational Event

Please join us for this free educational event about the latest advancements in cancer care on Sept. 26 in Needham. Buffet dinner included.

The Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center in Needham will host an event to educate the community about the latest advancements in cancer care and research.

“Conversations on Cancer: What You Need to Know about the Changing Landscape” will include a complimentary dinner buffet and presentations by leading experts in cancer. It will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, 100 Cabot Street, Needham.

The program will consist of patient-friendly mini-lectures followed by an audience question-and-answer session. Experts from the BIDMC Cancer Center and the BID Cancer Center in Needham will discuss new cancer research and treatments.

BIDMC encourages early registration to ensure attendance. Attendees are invited to bring a friend or family member. Registration closes September 16.

“We have witnessed dramatic changes in scientific research, clinical advancements, and medical technology, and an abundance of information on cancer care is now available,” said Marc Garnick, MD, BIDMC Cancer Center Director of Community Services, who will emcee the program. “The combined Cancer Center faculty of specialists from Boston and Needham are perfectly poised to share this knowledge with you and family members in what will be a memorable educational event.”

At the event, attendees will have an opportunity to sign up for a recently launched online cancer community that provides a forum for exchanging information and offering support.
