Donate children's items to Cradles to Crayons - Medfield Green Day this Saturday

Children's items will be accepted by Cradles to Crayons on Saturday at Medfield Green Day.

Medfield Green Day will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 9 a.m. - Noon at the American Legion Post, 110 Kristof Way.

At Medfield Green Day 2013, we are excited once again to offer a donation booth for children's items through Cradles to Crayons. Cradles to Crayons (C2C) was launched in 2002 in Massachusetts with the mission to provide children from birth to age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play.

C2C supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that needDonations of new and nearly new children's items are collected through grassroots community drives, like Medfield Green Day, and corporate donations.  These donations are then distributed through a series of partnerships with social-service organizations serving homeless and low-income families to provide their clients with these essential items.

The numbers of children needing the services of Cradles to Crayons is staggering.  More than 305,000 Massachusetts children 12 years old and younger live in poor or low-income households.

Last year, Cradles to Crayons provided, free of charge, packages of clothes, shoes, books, toys, baby safety equipment and school supplies to 87,000 children in Massachusetts and the Philadelphia area. Working in close partnership with social workers, nurses, teachers, and therapists, Cradles to Crayons has become a trusted resource: to children and families in need; to the organizations who serve those families; and to families, corporations, and individuals who seek ways to make a tangible difference in their own communities.

So when you are spring cleaning this year in preparation for Medfield Green Day, think of Cradles to Crayons and donate children's clothing and baby equipment for a very worthy cause.  Hope to see you at Medfield Green Day, Saturday, May 4th from 9 a.m. to Noon at the American Legion.  For a complete list of items accepted, please go to www.medfieldgreen.org.
