Brighter Lights: A Local Call To Empower Survivors of Human Trafficking

Amilia’s Light, a non-profit whose mission is to help survivors of human trafficking by rebuilding their lives through education, training, and job opportunities, is once again launching "Brighter Lights", a holiday season campaign to encourage its supporters to be a brighter light and donate to help Amilia's Light reach its goal of raising $10,000. Funds raised will benefit an Empowerment Program in Uganda, which Amilia's Light has supported for the last few years.

“The young women who were the first to benefit from the Empowerment Program in Kampala, Uganda, were provided with basic training in customer service, simple tasks, and mentoring for personal development and character,” said Michelle Luhrmann, founder of Amilia’s Light. “Now, we have set up a more comprehensive vocational training program in hair styling and tailoring. We are graduating 16 young women soon, and plan to bring more through the program in 2019.”
