"A Day At Rocky Woods" for Wheelock 3rd Graders
This 40 year tradition for Wheelock 3rd grade students gives them an opportunity to experience "A Day at Rocky Woods"
A Day at Rocky Woods...
Wheelock School third grade students enjoyed every moment of their Day at Rocky Woods just before Thanksgiving!
Hiking, Fishing, Archery, and stew over an open fire, "school-made" breads, chicken roasting on a spit, doughboys and games all contributed to a perfect day.
This 40 year tradition for Wheelock Students included the addition of Annawon Weeden who shared Wampanoag culture with the children and together they worked to build a lean-to structure.

Many thanks to Karen Vazquez, 5th year being the Rocky Woods Coordinator, as well as Master Gardeners Kyle Rock, Linda Ghilani, Christa Thompson and many more who helped plant and harvest vegetables at the Victory Garden for the delicious stew. Also, Medfield's 8th Grade Girl Scouts who tended the campfires. A huge thank you to the throngs of parent volunteers
who made this happen!
Principal, Holli Caulfield said, "The weather cooperated with our pilgrims today! Wheelock students had a great time at Rocky Woods! Many thanks to our staff, parents and community
members!"
