At our last Town Meeting, a warrant article passed requesting that the Selectmen appoint a Senior Housing Study Committee to investigate ways to address the need for affordable housing for an aging population. The Committee was appointed and began meeting in late October.
A key part of the Committee’s Study is to survey Medfield Seniors about their preferences to downsize and remain in Medfield and what kind of residence they hope to move to. The Survey consists of approx 16 easy questions and hard copies will be available at the Center at Medfield, the Medfield Library, and Town Hall. In addition the Survey can be found online at https://goo.gl/forms/mmHEai5GWufLAAkf2 and can be submitted from your computer or smartphone. Computer stations will also be available at the Center for your use. The Survey can also be e mailed to you if you provide your e mail address to Tony Centore at acentore@verizon.net. Hard copies should be placed in receptacles provided at each site or dropped off at Center.
Our goal is to collect all responses and analyze the results for use in our study. You may also see articles in the local papers or information on Medfield Cable TV. Our schedule is to have a preliminary presentation to the Selectmen in January and if required file for a Warrant Article for the 2017 Town Meeting. Therefore surveys should be completed hopefully before Jan 15, 2017.
