November 1st - Plastic Bag Ban in Medfield has Resumed

A few months ago the Town of Medfield in cooperation with the Medfield Board of Health announced that the Plastic Bag Ban would go back into effect on November 1, 2020,

Back in March and due to Covid-19, Governor Baker declared a State of Emergency in
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a grocery store order set out specific strategies to reduce Covid-19 exposure for customers and employees. Retailers were prohibited from allowing customers to use reusable bags, hence a direct impact on the Medfield Plastic Bag ban.

On Friday, July 10th, the Commissioner of the MA Dept of Public Health rescinded that order and reusable bags were allowed again as of that date but retailers were given a few months to use up some of their plastic bags, putting the Plastic Bag ban back in effect on November 1, 2020.
