Flag Day Reminder - Collect & Donate Older Flags For FLAG Retirement

Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14th, is around the corner so this is a great time to retire any of your worn out or old flags.

Flag Day is coming and it is a good time to collect older flags for retirement.

Medfield's American Legion Beckwith Post 110 conducts an annual ceremony to retire old and worn out American Flags.

Flag Day is around the corner so this is a great time to retire any of your worn out or old flags.

Unserviceable flags can be donated at any of the following collection points in Medfield.

  • Wills Hardware Store,
  • The Center at Medfield (Senior Center),
  • Medfield Public Library
  • Transfer Station (In the shed by the Waste Building).

These collection points are available throughout the year, however spring is when most are deposited for retirement.

The ceremony being conducted is actually a celebration of the flag's useful life. These flags were used by our citizens to display a patriotic commitment to our Country. Many of the flags served to mark and honor the grave sites of deceased citizens who once served in our Armed Forces.

Please remember if you have a flag that needs retiring to drop it off at one of the collection points mentioned above. Medfield American Legion Beckwith Post 110, proudly serving the Medfield community for over 100 years.
