A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1929, during Prohibition, Medfield Police Chief Coleman Hogan seized 179 gallons of alcohol, 575 gallons of whiskey, 34 cases of assorted wines and 131 gallons of beer in a raid at one house. The chief also stopped, on Medfield roads, a Nash coupe, a Chevrolet coupe, a Chrysler coupe, a Lincoln coupe, a Marmon coupe, two Packard sedans, a Buick roadster, a Ford roadster and a Dodge truck, each stopped after a chase and each containing illegal liquor."
