A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1887 tenement apartments, which rented for $10 per month were in great demand, while those for which $15 was charged were going empty. Apartments located one half mile from the center of town and from the hat factory were finding plenty of tenants, while more expensive houses near the center and the factory went begging. In a factory village like Medfield, rent was an important item."
