"Getting to Know members of the MPD" will attempt to put unity in Comm“unity” by highlighting the members of the MPD by featuring short bios.
The MPD hope these bios will give Medfield residents the opportunity to get to know them better, and strengthen the relationship between the police department and our citizens.
Officer John McKenna
Officer McKenna grew up in Massachusetts in a small town on the south shore. He started his law enforcement career in 2014 in the Town of Rockland. In his time with Rockland, he was an Auxiliary Officer, full time E911 Dispatcher, Permanent Intermittent Police Officer and a full
time Police Officer.

In 2022 Officer McKenna transferred to the Medfield Police Department as a full time police officer. In his time here in Medfield, he has become a Taser Instructor, BT O.I.C, Field Training Officer, Evidence Officer, FAA Licensed Drone Operator and assigned to the Investigation Unit. Officer McKenna enjoys interacting with the community, making a positive impact and being part of the daily operations of the Medfield Police Department.
When at home, he loves spending time with family, golfing, and prepping for his next road race. Officer McKenna looks forward to his future here with the Medfield Police Dept. and serving the Medfield community.
