Medfielders, Got Foam Cluttering Your Home? TSARC to Hold Foam Collection on Sat, Oct. 22!

The Transfer Station and Recycling Committee (TSARC) will hold a foam collection on Sat, Oct. 22 from 9am to 2pm at the Swap Area of the Transfer Station. Please bring appropriate types of clean foam (expanded polystyrene) in clear or white leaf or trash bags only, sorry no black trash or contractor bags accepted. Tip: if it snaps cleanly, it is the correct material. If it bends, is spongy or breaks into pieces/granules, it is not recyclable by our vendor.

WHAT We Will Accept... YES!!!

  • Packing foam- used to ship electronics, appliances, etc.
  • Foam coolers
  • Foam egg cartons
  • Foam food trays- colors accepted; must be rinsed, clean, and dry

All items must be clean and dry. We cannot accept any material in contractor or trash bags of any color per the vendor. All material packed that way will be returned to the owner for proper bagging or disposal. Clear leaf bags are available at Wills in Medfield and other hardware stores.

DO NOT Bring These Items... NO!!!

  • Foam wrapping sheets
  • Foam urethane- spongy packing material; may be used in mattress toppers
  • Pluck foam- spongy, ridged packing material; may be used in mattress toppers
  • Dirt, dust, leaves or spider webs
  • Labels, tape or paper attached
  • Drinking cups
  • Packing peanuts

We hope Medfield residents will help make this collection a success by respecting the guidelines listed above. Anyone who has attended a collection in the past will recall that traffic gets severely backed up,leading to frustrating wait time. Please be part of the solution by bringing the correct items in a clear or white bag so they can be quickly collected and we can keep the line moving smoothly.
