The Medfield High School Class of 2014 Commencement Exercises were held under bright sunny skies and warm temperatures on Sunday afternoon, June 8th on the High School turf field.
MHS Faculty and Class Advisors led the way, as they all walked out onto the field and took their seats.
School Committee Members, Medfield dignitaries and invited guests were in the first few rows, while parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles sat in the bleachers and in the seats on the field. Lots of umbrellas were seen in the stands, but not because of rain, they were being used to shade the sun. Many sought out a bit of shade under the few canopies offered.
Medfield High School Orchestra & Band played as the students walked in. Principal, Robert Parga addressed the crowd and introduced Kara O'Connell who sang the National Anthem. The "Welcome" was given by Class President, Charles Horan.
Dr. Jeffrey Marsden, Superintendent of Schools gave the "Opening Remarks", followed by Honor Essayists Olivia Gotham and Elizabeth Lanzilla.
Medfield School Committee member, Timothy J. Bonfatti gave a "Message to the Class of 2014 followed by Senior Speaker, Jennifer Thomas.
Principal Parga gave a "Message from the Principal", followed by the Presentation of a "Class Gift" from Class Treasurer, Alexander Bugajski.
Diplomas were presented to the graduates by School Committee Member, Timothy Bonfatti, Superintendent, Dr. Jeffrey Marsden, Principal, Robert Parga and Dean of Academics, Kathleen Nunes.
