Grants Available from IAM Strong Foundation

Grant funding available for teen mental health programming and projects

The IAM Strong Foundation, which seeks to shatter the stigma surrounding teen mental health struggles, is pleased to announce the Spring 2017 Grant Cycle. This grant cycle opens on February 1st and will extend through April 1st. Grants will be awarded on or before May 1st.

The very first grant cycle for the IAM Strong Foundation was held in the fall of 2015, and grant cycles have continued twice a year since then. This past fall, four grants were awarded, including funding the development of an organizational tool for all freshman at Walpole High School with an emphasis on emotional and mental health and resources, funding mental health workshops for parents and families at the Mary Lyon School in Boston, funding the program “Unguarded: A Conversation with Chris Herren” for Westwood High School focusing on addiction, sobriety, peer pressure, cutting, and bullying, and funding the training of 50-100 teens, parents, and school staff through Families for Depression Awareness, to recognize teen depression and understand how to intervene. Last Spring, grants totaling $25,000 funded programs at the Boston Arts Academy High School, the Judge Baker Children’s Center, the Norwood High School TASC program, and a local filmmaker’s multi media platform project.

The IAM Strong Foundation is looking forward to reviewing grant applications for the present grant cycle and is prepared to award up to $10,000 or more per individual grant. Grant applications from all local communities are welcome. Grant applicants must be non-profit organizations or affiliated individuals who share a vision that aligns with the values and mission of the IAM Strong Foundation.
