Joe Andruzzi Foundation Hosts Second Annual (Up)Beat Comedy Night

Enjoy an evening of laughs for a good cause courtesy of comedian Lenny Clark

On Thursday, May 7th, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing emotional and financial support to cancer patients and their families when it is needed most, will once again bring the “fun” to their second annual fundraiser, (Up)Beat Comedy Night, presented by Bob’s Discount Furniture. The comedy show, held at Raffael’s Walpole, will feature a performance by the Boston-native comedian and actor Lenny Clarke, who is most recently of the television series, “Rescue Me.”

Lenny, along with a cast of New England’s best comics, will treat attendees to a “laugh until your stomach hurts” show that will benefit the Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s mission to alleviate cancer’s financial burdens on patients and families, while also funding critical pediatric brain cancer research at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition to raising essential funds for patients throughout the area, the event will also spread the Foundation’s (Up)Beat philosophy, which stresses the importance of a positive attitude in the face of adversity and the drive to not only fight to beat cancer, but “(Up)Beat” it.

ABOUT THE JOE ANDRUZZI FOUNDATION:

During Joe Andruzzi’s football career with the New England Patriots, Joe and his wife Jen were active locally visiting patients and families battling cancer. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) was founded shortly after losing a close family friend to the disease, whom Joe met during his time with the Patriots. Through the foundation, they have continued to help raise money and provide support for families battling cancer, where Joe’s own diagnosis and treatment of the disease has helped drive the mission of JAF forward. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families by contributing financial and emotional support when it is needed most.
