Letter to the Medfield Community...

Dear Medfield Neighbors,

I am seeking election to our school committee and would greatly appreciate your support!

My son and I have been residents of Medfield since 2014. Like many parents, I was drawn to our community for its tremendous school system. I am a big believer in public education and supporter of our local schools. Moving to Medfield was a wonderful decision for our family and I have become a very engaged member of our community ever since.

As a Mom, I’m at every game cheering on our kids and supporting them in their efforts. I always raise my hand to help with an activity or chaperone an event. Through Troop 89, I have the opportunity to work with many of our local scouts as a merit badge counselor and Chartered Organization Representative. I have also had the opportunity to give back to the community at large through a variety of service opportunities. Whether helping move our local food pantry to their new location, supporting activities and events at Bellforge, helping direct traffic at little league games, or hanging motivational signs for the Angel Run, I am always finding ways to support our town.

As an executive, I have a great deal of experience that would equip me to support our school committee. That includes having strong negotiation and communication skills and an ability to bring parties together with different needs and demands to drive to resolution. As a hiring manager, I am always evaluating candidates to find the best fit for the role and making critical personnel decisions for my organization. This also means a focus on career pathing and professional development as I help teams grow and expand their knowledge. As an organizational leader I have complete P&L and financial responsibilities and must manage my budget responsibly, ensuring that I’m making the best investments that deliver the greatest value. I believe all of the skills obtained through my professional career are applicable and can support the various demands of our school committee.

Most importantly, I am an advocate for our kids and will support choices that will give them a strong foundation from which to build as they enter the world. I feel we are very fortunate to live in this community and have the resources we do for our children. I recognize there is always room to grow and to find ways to continue to push ourselves to do better. I welcome the opportunity to partner with fellow committee members, our school administrators, and our townspeople as we prepare our 5 year strategic plan, deliver a plan for a new school to support our 4th and 5th grades, and work to make our schools the best they can be.

In summary, I care about our kids and our town and want to do my part as a member of this community. That is why I have opted to participate in this process, and I hope you will cast a vote for me on March 27th.

Thank you for your consideration.

Kristin Ann Simonini, Main Street
