Letter to the Medfield Community from Library Trustee Candidate
"Dear Medfield Neighbors,
My name is Caryn Picarillo, and I write to ask for your vote for Medfield Public Library Trustee on March 31st. I would like to share a personal story that has inspired me to run for the position of library trustee in our wonderful town.
As a child, I was captivated by the magic of books. The library was my sanctuary, a place where I could explore new worlds, meet fascinating characters, and let my imagination soar. My love of reading was nurtured by the dedicated librarians who always knew just the right book to recommend. Those early experiences ignited a lifelong passion for learning and discovery.

Fast forward to today, and I am a scientist who still carries that same love of reading and thirst for knowledge. My career has been built with the curiosity and critical thinking I first developed through countless hours spent in the library. The skills I honed as a young reader have been invaluable in my scientific endeavors, allowing me to approach problems with creativity and perseverance.
When my partner and I moved here in 2023 with our four children (ages 14, 12, 10, and 7), we were drawn by the outstanding school system. However, we quickly discovered that the true gem of this community is its warm and inviting spirit. We fell in love with the sense of belonging and the shared commitment to fostering a vibrant, supportive environment for all residents.

It is this deep appreciation for our community and my enduring love of libraries that have motivated me to run for library trustee. I believe that my scientific background, combined with my passion for reading, uniquely positions me to contribute to the continued success and growth of our library. As Library Trustee, I would work tirelessly to ensure that our library remains a place of inspiration, learning, and connection for everyone.
I am committed to supporting programs that promote literacy and lifelong learning, advocating for resources that meet the diverse needs of our community, and fostering an inclusive environment where all feel welcome. By giving back to the library that has given me so much, I hope to inspire the next generation of readers, thinkers, and dreamers.
Together, we can ensure that our library continues to enrich lives and spark imaginations for years to come. Vote Caryn Picarillo for Library Trustee on March 31!"
