A Letter of Thanks to the Community!

"Dear Friends and Supporters of the Medfield Food Cupboard,

On behalf of the Medfield Food Cupboard, we would like to thank our donors and volunteers for their ongoing support. Throughout the year, but especially during the holidays, our community truly demonstrates its support of the Food Cupboard and its clients. At our Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions, the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Christ was filled with a bounty of food donations, homemade treats and gifts.

Many individuals and philanthropic groups in our community shared their talents and their generosity with our clients. Countless supporters donated to our collection bins around town, gave to our annual appeal, or held food drives at their holiday parties, churches, schools, and places of business. At this year’s annual “Wish Maker Event,” friends and neighbors filled holiday gift wishes for our clients by contributing boots, warm winter clothes, hats, gloves and toys. Another group of residents collected donations from friends and created gift baskets for our clients. A church group made lovely warm knitted items, a second provided Christmas stockings for our younger clients, and a third provided tins of decorative holiday cookies. A Girl Scout troop contributed beautifully wrapped ingredients to make gingerbread houses, and friends from the Neighbor Brigade provided fresh loaves of bread.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and the hard work of our volunteers, many neighbors, who need a little assistance right now, enjoyed a holiday season with healthy meals along with a few presents for their loved ones. Your financial contributions and food donations continue to be our sole means for providing supplemental or emergency food.

We are grateful to live in such a wonderful, giving town; we wish you all a healthy and happy New Year."
