Lions Food Drive Was A Great SUCCESS!

Medfield Lions Food Drive in support of the Medfield Food Cupboard was a great SUCCESS!

On Saturday, September 13th, at the entrances to Shaw's, The Medfield Lions held a food drive to support the Medfield Food Cupboard.

People of all ages participated by simply purchasing something from the list of "Most Needed Items" provided to them as they entered the store to do their shopping. A number of children with a parent or grandparent came out of Shaw's with an armful of items and it was heartwarming to see these children feeling proud for helping the Food Cupboard. Other community members would fill an entire bag with items and give it to Lions as they exited the store.

A number of customers were in a hurry, but tossed money into the collection jar and with that, the Lions were able to purchase quite a few 6-packs of Boost, an item that is greatly needed at the MFC.

The Medfield Food Cupboard reports an estimated 3,000 - 3,500 items were donated in just that short 4-hour period of the drive!

MFC President, Beth Eby stated, "The Lions drive at Shaw's is one of our biggest food drives. The whole community gets involved on one day and helps to fill our shelves! Such a wonderful community we live in! So lucky!"

This was the 2nd food drive held by the Medfield Lions in 2025, organized by Lion Chris Carlin, the former Medfield Lions Club President. This bi-annual food drive was so successful it will be an ongoing Lions event....the next food drive at Shaw's will be held in March 2026.
