Local Screening of Documentary "Pack Up Your Sorrows" Featuring Award Winning Songwriter Meg Hutchinson

Singer-Song Writer Meg Hutchinson shares her journey with Bipolar disorder and explores themes of hope, transformation, and recovery

On Thursday evening, October 13th at the Little Theater at Westwood High School, the IAM Strong Foundation will present a local screening of the documentary “Pack Up Your Sorrows - A Story of Illness, Hope & Transformation.” Through frank conversations with acclaimed authors, psychiatrists, scientists, and teachers, as well as a personal narrative from Meg Hutchinson about her own experiences with Bipolar disorder, the film sheds light on mental health struggles, treatments, and recovery. The film also talks openly about suicide, and explores what can be done to decrease the epidemic of suicide, especially in young people. Featured in the film are interviews with Sgt. Kevin Briggs, acclaimed advocate for suicide prevention.

“Pack Up Your Sorrows” has been screened across the country and the IAM Strong Foundation is honored to bring it to Westwood. The screening will begin at 7:30 PM in the Little Theater, Westwood High School, 200 Nahatan Street in Westwood, and it is free and open to the public. The film is recommended for high school age and older.

For those that are interested in meeting Meg Hutchinson after viewing the film, she will be appearing at The Norwood Theatre on October 26th, in a formal presentation entitled “How We Got Through: A Conversation Between Sisters.”
