Medfield Addresses Billing Mistake

Medfield alerts residents to water and sewer billing error.

MEDFIELD, MA — Medfield residents may want to hold off on paying their latest water and sewer bills after the town discovered a billing error.

In a news release Wednesday, the town announced that a sewer rate increase approved by the Water and Sewer Board was not updated in the utility billing software for the April through October 2026 billing cycle.

While the total water consumption listed on residents' bills is correct, the sewer rate used to calculate the charges is incorrect.
