Medfield American Legion Presents Service Award to Al Manganello

At the April 2017 Post 110 membership meeting Legionnaires paid tribute to a “Medfield Legend” - Al Manganello. Post Commander Paul Galofaro presented Al with a well-deserved Service Award plaque.

Al, a 1964 graduate of Medfield High School, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1965 and served two and half years including 14 months in Vietnam. Al has been a member of the American Legion for 50 years, serving five times as Post Commander, continuing member of the E Board, and Trustees of the Post. Al’s biggest achievement is his role as Post Steward since 1975. His responsibilities include not only the bar, function hall, and building management but also Legion community activities such as the senior Christmas luncheon, Santa’s visit to the Post, and Veterans and Memorial Day activities.

Al and his wife Lorraine recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. They are both kept busy with two children and a new granddaughter.
