Medfield Troop 89 held a court of honor Thursday, October 7, at Rocky Woods to celebrate scout achievements.
The masters of ceremony were Sr. Patrol Leader Kenny Manning and Assistant Sr. Patrol Leader Billy Whitaker. Committee Chair, Karl Kemp’s opening remarks recognized the achievements made possible under Scoutmaster Hatch’s leadership and guidance in creating a Troop 89 Summer camp where the Scouts earned a total of 55 merit badges.
“Our troop has expanded by 40% since March of 2020 and I’ve been continually impressed with how our scouts and volunteers have adapted to changes to continue to learn new skills and earn ranks on the path to Eagle” said James Hatch, Scoutmaster.

The following highlights scouts who achieved new ranks:
- Scout Rank: Drew Munz, Grant Sullivan,Harrison Warner,Logan Jones
- Tenderfoot:Drew Munz, Ben Simonini, Ethan Geishecker, Ethan Lemieux, Finn Posner,
Grant Sullivan, Jack Gibson, Jack Gargano, Jack Johnson, Jack Segal, Jake Sellinger, James Callahan, Jonathan Underwood, Justin Brasier, Liam Curry, Logan Jones, Mason Allan, Max Lowry and Spencer Lee - Second Class: Jack Resch
- First Class: James Murphy
- Star: Daniel Kemp, Nate Koterba
- Eagle: Jani Passas, Karl Ericson,Tito King
Scoutmaster Hatch thanked the Committee Chair, Assistant Scoutmasters, all the adults serving on the Troop Committee, and those who volunteer as merit badge counselors, on boards of review, at courts of honor, at fundraising events or at summer camp. He presented long time supporters
and volunteers, the Kazanjians, the Ericsons and Doug Page with plaques and a small gift to thank them for their support.

Scoutmaster Hatch also presented representatives of the Fin, Fur, Feather club with a donation and Troop 89 t-shirts to thank them for their ongoing support of our scouting endeavors. Much of the achievements celebrated during this Court of Honor were made possible during the Troop 89 summer camp held at Fin, Fur, Feather this summer.
