Medfield Collection: School Supplies/Backpacks for SOWMA!

School Supply/Backpack DRIVE...

Marina Coletti, a junior at Medfield High School, is currently coordinating a supply drive for School on Wheels Massachusetts.

School on Wheels Massachusetts - SOWMA - is an organization that supports children and teens impacted by homelessness. Last year, Massachusetts public schools identified over 20,000 students impacted by homelessness. Each year the SOWMA organization provides school supplies to these student. This year SOWMA has taken an unprecedented amount of requests and is in the process of filling over 3,000 backpacks for homeless students this back to school season.

Backpacks (K-12), Large Pencil Boxes, Lg Pencil Sharpeners (with cover), Composition Notebooks, 1" binders, Colored pencils (pack of 12), Highlighters, Flexible plastic rulers, Glue Sticks, Large Erasers.

Because SOWMA takes requests all year long, any support will go a long way to get backpacks into the hands of many more children in this situation. While NEW backpacks are in most demand, any NEW school supply donation is welcomed.

Drop-off locations include the Pfaff Center, Blake Middle School, Medfield High School or at 8 Remsen Avenue.Bins will be located in the lobby by each school office, just outside the office at the Pfaff, and a box will be at the end of driveway at 8 Remsen Ave (flyer taped to top of it).

Drop offs at the Pfaff Center and at 8 Remsen Ave is NOW through September 7th.

Drop offs at Blake and MHS begins Wednesday August 29th through September 7th!
