Medfield Energy Committee Celebrates Chairman, Fred Davis

The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Fred Davis for chairing the Medfield Energy Committee from 2019 – 2022.

Medfield Energy Committee Celebrates Chairman, Fred Davis

On August 17th, Medfielders who are passionate about decarbonizing their workplaces and homes met to celebrate accomplishments, share ideas, and encourage others to join in on the action. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Fred Davis for chairing the Medfield Energy Committee from 2019 – 2022.

Fred is well known in Medfield and in the energy industry for his passion and leadership in accelerating adoption of energy efficiency and clean energy solutions. In addition to leading his company, the Fred Davis Corporation, a leading independent nationwide wholesale distributor dealing exclusively with energy-efficient lighting products, Fred also dedicates his time and passion to the town of Medfield serving on the Medfield Energy committee since its inception in 2008. With his leadership, the Medfield Energy Committee has successfully:

  • Established Medfield as a Green Community
  • Installed over 300 kW Solar on Medfield Town facilities
  • Led numerous energy efficiency initiatives, reducing energy usage and cost on municipal buildings
  • Secured passage of Article 22, Net Zero 2050 Goal at Town of Medfield meeting in May 2021
  • Supported the development of The Town of Medfield Climate Action Plan that provides a roadmap to achieve net zero carbon by 2050.
  • Instrumental in guaranteeing MEC's involvement with MSH Development and new school to ensure sustainable practices

Fred was presented a custom LED Light award honoring his work as Chair of the Medfield Energy Committee from 2019 – 2022. Jim Nail and Hilli Passas, current co-chairs of MEC presented the award. Selectman Pete Peterson and Eileen Murphy joined in on the festivities as well as members of Medfield Environment Action, Sustainable Medfield and the Transfer Station and Recycling Committee.
