Medfield Farmers Market Has Friendly Weekly Vendors

Some vendors even came out last month during a huge downpour during the market

A Holliston based vendor, Little Beehive Farm is one of the regulars at Medfield’s Farmer’s Market each Thursday, from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. on the grounds of the historic First Parish Meeting House on North St. This farm booth carries much more than bottles of fresh honey, (a product that never goes sour.)

According to the farmer of just under an acre of land: “I manage to pack a lot in this little farm; 4-6 beehives, a big vegetable garden, a large array of beautiful woody shrubs, trees, & perennials, 2 beautiful dogs, and an ever changing number of chickens.”

The booth display consists of numerous products made from the beeswax or the honey, including: lip balm, an array of beauty products, candles, candy, soap, insect repellent, mustard and the newest trend in reusable food wrapping, “The Hungry Bees’ Beeswax Wraps” provide an eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap. They are hand- made from high quality, locally sourced materials: 100% cotton fabric, pure beeswax, and jojoba oil. Ask about the CSA option of the honey throughout the summer months.

Each stand at the market has so much to offer. Fresh veggies, more than just salad greens are becoming abundant at the White Barn Farm stand from Wrentham and there are various cuts of lamb and wool products from a Sherborn’s Lightening Ridge sheep farm. Vendors also offer fresh eggs, natural, home made granola; delectable treats for both humans and their canine friends. If a shopper gets hungry there are more sweets or a hot dog wagon to choose from. Sit in the shade and listen to music find a table that provides entertainment for the youngest family members. There is so much to do and see that a visit to the farmers’ market is a Thursday afternoon must.

Parking is available in the rear of the church or along North Street.
