Medfield Farmers' Market opens Thursday, June 14 from 2 to 6 P.M.

Although twenty-six vendors have signed up only ten will be weekly anchors, the rest may be regular Semi weekly, monthly or intermittent.

At least twenty-six vendors have signed on for the 8th season of the Medfield Farmers Market that begins this week from 2-6 P.M. on Thursday, June 14. The Market will be located on the lawn of the historic First Parish Meeting House, 26 North St., each Thursday through September. Parking is available in the rear of the church and on North Street adjacent to Meeting House Pond.

The small market area will host many vendors weekly, biweekly and intermittently and the variety of goods available will be extensive. The 2017farmers from White Barn will be returning with fresh produce as it is harvested weekly throughout the season, beginning with plenty of greens this month. That farm stand will also sell flowers and herbs and include fruit from Fairmont farm. Stonegate Farm fresh eggs will also be available. Little Beehive Farm will be returning regularly with fresh honey as well as honey products. Lightening Ridge Farm, a new vendor, will be on hand with lamb meat and wool products. The Shilling family returns again this year as an egg vendor. Seafood, always a popular item, will be sold by Sven’s Fish and Seafood, a new weekly vendor this year.

Also new this year, promoting healthy breakfasts with natural, nutritious granola will be Nutty Bird Granola, with just that one item, although Chrissy’s Crumble promises granola and vegan and grain free items as well.. Starbucks, popular last year for providing free coffee grounds for garden enhancement, will return again with the same service. Their coffee can be had nearby but not at the market, where there may be another coffee vendor. Juice Plus, a nutritional juice drinks vendor returns and loose teas and accoutrements s will be sold by Jan’s Teapot.

Specialty items that will be available include: The Hot Dog Wagon, Sweet D Dog doggie treats, Arbonne skin care, Mary Millay with custom greeting cards, jewelry by Tammy Schuetz Cook and pottery of Laurie Schreiner pottery. There will be ice cream, Greek cookies and dried pasta. Perhaps the unique vendor for the 2018 season is a new business, Medfield Bicycle Services, started by two enterprising young men who offer a bike tune-up and repair service at the market weekly, servicing bikes for a nominal fee while the customer shops.

Non-profit local organizations are encouraged to attend to promote their causes. One weekly group will supply a bake sale table with home-made items from members of the Church which is a sponsor of the Market.
