Medfield Police Logs, Dec. 12-19: Man Arrested, Car Accidents and a ‘Confused Raccoon’

Monday, Dec. 12:
4:01 p.m. – Woman called from Main Street to report while she was in Boston, her car was broken into. She was instructed to call Boston Police.

9:35 a.m. – Millis Police Department requested an engine to their high school field for a life flight. Medfield fire alarm struck and Fire Department responded with Engine 1. Cleared the scene in Millis at 10:01 a.m.
10:20 a.m. – Westwood Police reported Westwood Lodge reported they had a patient who fled. Cruisers were notified and a description was released. Officer drove by home on Laurel Road and reported no one answered. At 11:40 a.m., Dedham Police reported they had the patient in their custody and returned him to the hospital. Cruisers were notified.

3:26 p.m. – 911 caller from High Street reported his daughter hit him and was very abusive. He would like the police to come down. Officers notified and filed a report.
3:29 p.m. – Caller reported a large red truck dumping trash in the driveway of the old Potpouri lot on West Street. Officer notified and responded to the area, reporting nothing was found.
4:07 p.m. – Onstar reported a motor vehicle crash – car into a pole – on North Street. Officers responded to the scene. Ambulance reported no transport was necessary. Assured Collision towing was notified and had the vehicle. At 4:25 p.m., NSTAR was notified that the pole needed to be replaced. The motor vehicle operator, a 17-year-old Norfolk resident, was issued a summons on charges of negligent operation of motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding in violation of special regulation.
Wednesday, Dec. 14:
8:40 a.m. – Woman called from her cell phone to report a minor two-vehicle crash with no personal injury at High Street and Turner Hill Road. Officer said she spoke to an individual in the area who said someone hit a deer with their vehicle but was gone on arrival. At 10:33 a.m., A woman came into the station to report she was the operator who hit the deer and it ran off into the woods. Woman said she would file a crash report.
3:25 p.m. – Man called to report two young girls and a young boy just walked into the Lowell Mason House on Green Street. Officer reported the house checked out OK upon arrival and no one was around.
Thursday, Dec. 15:
4:30 p.m. – Officer issued three citations while on traffic enforcement detail at Main and South Streets.
8:21 a.m. – Man from Penobscot Street called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for his wife, 62, who was running a high temperature. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
Friday, Dec. 16:
3:28 a.m. – 911 caller from Cheney Pond Road called to report a silver pickup truck was driving by her house. Officer told operator to move along.
7:48 a.m. – Employee from the Water Treatment Plant on West Street called to report a blue pickup truck was stealing old railroad rails. The employee said they were there Thursday but was told to leave. The truck is no longer in the area but the company would like extra patrols this weekend.
10:35 a.m. –Caller reported there was a raccoon on the side of the road that looked “confused.” Animal Control officer reported a tree company may have cut down the raccoon home and it was confused. The animal was gone on arrival.
12:10 p.m. – Emergency 911 caller requested the ambulance to Wilkens Glen Road for an individual with low pulse rate.
12:48 p.m. – Caller reported she had a fire in her oven at Orchard Street. Fire Department responded and reported no fire at time of arrival.
8:10 p.m. – Medfield Police arrested Dennis Mulkern, 58, of Framingham on the charge of a straight warrant from Framingham District Court after a motor vehicle stop on West Street.
9:23 p.m. – Ambulance responded to a residence on South Street for a 60-year-old having difficulty breathing. Ambulance transported patient to Framingham.
9:25 p.m. – Report of youths throwing things into the roadway from the railroad bridge on Frairy Street. Officer reported several old TVs were in the roadway and moved them to the side of the road. Highway Department would be notified in the morning.
11:17 p.m. – Medfield Fire Department reported a walk-in with breathing difficulty and requested Walpole Ambulance to intercept on Route 27. Walpole responded and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
Saturday, Dec. 17:
8:45 a.m. – Woman called from North Street to speak with Animal Control about a skunk in a trap.
12:43 p.m. – Man from Bow Street called to request Animal Control for a deer in his backyard with a broken leg. Animal Control notified and responded.
2:37 p.m. – Manager from Lovell’s Flowers and Nursery on Main Street called emergency 911 to request police for a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot. Medfield Ambulance also on scene. Officer requested two wreckers on scene. Desk officer notified Assured Collision. EMT reported they were clear from the scene, no transport necessary. Officer reported clear from the scene and cancelled Assured Collision, vehicle operators are able to drive home under their own power.
10:36 p.m. – 911 caller reported a party on Donnelly Drive. Officer responded and later reported he was coming in with three youths.
11:37 p.m. – Individual from Marlyn Road called to report a house party. Officer notified and spoke to the homeowner, who was told to turn down the music and take the party inside.
Sunday, Dec. 18:
9:15 a.m. – Man called to report water coming out of a manhole in the lot of Clark Building of the Medfield State Hospital property on Hospital Road. Ed Hinkley was notified and reported there was no break, just a drain.
2:11 p.m. – Officer issued a fire lane violation citation to a motor vehicle operator outside of Shaw’s Market on Main Street.
8:04 p.m. – 911 caller reported her smoke alarm was going off but there was no smoke or fire. First responders on scene reported it was a faulty detector.
9 p.m. – A 27-year-old Norfolk resident was issued a summons for operating after revocation of registration after a motor vehicle stop by Medfield Police on South Street.
9:21 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report he hit a deer on Main Street at Pound Street. He reported the deer ran off. Officer spoke to the man.
10:30 p.m. – Caller reported she would like an ambulance at Wilkens Glen Road for her mother, who has a bad nosebleed that would not stop. Ambulance transported patient to Needham.
Monday, Dec. 19:
5:37 a.m. – Fire dispatch reported the fire alarm going off for an address on Janes Avenue. The Fire Department and police responded to the building and notified the key holder. Fire Department reported it was a sprinkler system problem.
6:35 a.m. – 911 caller reported she would like an ambulance for her father, who was light headed and had shortness of breath. Ambulance responded to Eastmount Road and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
8:30 a.m. – Officer reported construction equipment was blocking the road on Pine Street. Sergeant reported equipment would be moved.
