Medfield Police Logs: Sept. 26 to Oct. 3

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Sept. 26:

6:03 a.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement detail on Main Street and reported no citations issued.

10:02 a.m. – Millis Police requested the ambulance for mutual aid at the high school. Ambulance was enroute to Metrowest Hospital in Framingham with patient.

11:25 a.m. – Officer issued a verbal warning during a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.

12:41 p.m. – Caller reported a dog locked in a motor vehicle with no windows open in the Shaw’s parking lot. Animal Control officer notified. A second call came into the station to report the owner just got into the vehicle and drove off. Animal Control officer notified.

1:33 p.m. – Caller reported she had a stray dog on Knollwood Road. Animal Control officer responded.

3:57 p.m. – Caller reported the gate at the end of Erik Road had been left open. She reported this is always shut and is to be used by police and fire only. There had been a lot of traffic coming through. Officer reportedly checked the area out.

4:10 p.m. – Officer was out on traffic enforcement detail on Main Street and Pound Street. Officer reported no citations and the average speed was 30 mph.

5:26 p.m. – Caller reported her house on Oriole Road was hit by an egg three or four days ago. She was not sure but wanted it logged.

5:29 p.m. – Caller reported she had an injured football player with a possible broken leg behind Blake Middle School at Pound Street on the practice field. Ambulance notified and transported patient to LMH Hospital in Natick.

7:13 p.m. – Man from West Street called to report a larceny from his company. Officer spoke to the man.

8:28 p.m. – Caller reported from Marsh Drive that her husband was drunk and was trying to leave in his car. She wanted an officer to speak to the man. Officer notified and a report was filed.

8:33 p.m. – Caller reported while he was getting gas, a car backed into his car and he would like to see an officer. This occurred at the Mobil Station on North Street. Officer reported he helped them with their paper work and no report was needed.

Tuesday, Sept. 27:

9:07 a.m. – Woman called from her cell phone on Harding Street to request the ambulance for a woman who had fallen down in her yard on Harding Street. EMT reported there would be no transport.

3:35 p.m. – A man from South Street called to report someone had broken into his house and he would like to speak with an officer. A report was filed.

5:50 p.m. – Woman from South Street called to request an officer because she has a moving company there and they would not move her furniture in the house without her paying them in cash. Officer stood by until the move was done and reported the furniture had been moved in and all parties involved were happy now.

8:05 p.m. – Woman from Orchard Street called to report one of her neighbors called to report a car full of kids just drove by her house making a lot of noise and she would like an officer to check out the area. Officer reported all was quiet upon arrival.

8:34 p.m. – Man from Walpole called and requested to speak to a detective about some suspicious activity at Shaw’s Market on Main Street in Medfield between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Detective spoke with the man and reported no problem at this time.

8:40 p.m. – Man from Medfield Water Department called to report they would be flushing fire hydrants in the areas of Main Street, Causeway Street and Orchard Street Tuesday night.

9:09 p.m. – Man from Oxbow Road called and requested to speak with the Animal Control officer because he had a flying squirrel in his house. Animal Control was notified.

9:22 p.m. – Man called emergency 911 from Boyden Road to report he was cooking some food on the stove and set off his fire alarm. An requested the Medfield Fire Department do not respond. EMT was notified as well and cal was cancelled.

Wednesday, Sept. 28:

5:13 a.m. – Woman called to report she could hear yelling and screaming coming from a residence on Miller Street. Officer notified and reported an argument between husband and wife. All was set for now.

9:12 a.m. – Man called emergency 911 from Robinson Road to request the ambulance for his wife, who had been vomiting and is light headed. EMT requested Walpole paramedics on scene. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital at 9:35 a.m.

12:46 p.m. – Caller from the Shaw’s Market parking lot on Main Street reported a motor vehicle accident with no personal injury that she was in. She would like an officer to help with the paper work. Officer helped both parties with paperwork and scene was cleared.

12:50 p.m. – Sergeant reported a woman’s wallet was found in front of the U-Haul company on North Meadows Road and he is taking the wallet back to its owner.

6:06 p.m. – Woman called from Bridge Street to request Animal Control for an injured fox in her back yard. Animal Control was notified and enroute to scene. She reportedly put the animal down at 7:09 p.m.

6:06 p.m. – Woman from Walden Court called to request Animal Control because she had an injured opossum in her front yard. Opossum was removed from the yard.

8:48 p.m. – Man from the Medfield Water Department reported they would be flushing fire hydrants in the areas of Bride Street, West Street, Harding Street and Hospital Road.

Thursday, Sept. 29:

9:49 a.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement detail on Hartford Street near Dover town line and issued a verbal warning.

3:48 p.m. – Report of a minor motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts on Main Street came into the station. Officer reported no report was needed for minor damage. Paperwork was exchanged and scene was cleared.

8:58 p.m. – Custodian reported someone drove over the field behind the middle school on High Street and did “quite a bit of damage,” according to the police log. Incident was noted.

10:04 p.m. – Damage noted to Lantern on Orchard Street possibly done at an earlier time.

Friday, Sept. 30:

8:57 a.m. – Man from Main Street called from work to report someone possibly tried to break in to his basement door. They did not gain access into the basement. Man would like the police if possible to keep an eye on the area.

1:24 p.m.  –Woman called emergency 911 from Main Street to request the ambulance for her son who had a problem with his neck. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

3:58 p.m. – Caller from South Street reported another house on the street is supposed to be empty and when she went to check on it she found the door open. Sergeant reported someone had cut the copper pipes.

9:59 p.m. – Manager from Friendly’s reported a loud group of boys causing a problem and would like them removed. Group was removed.

Saturday, Oct. 1:

12:12 a.m. – Officer reported somebody drove on the field at McCarthy Fields on Hospital Road but no damage was done. Just left tire tracks.

5:55 a.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement detail on Main Street and reported no citations issued.

7:19 a.m.  –Caller requested an officer for an assault that took place on Pine Grove Road. Officer spoke to the caller.

7:25 a.m. – Multiple calls regarding a motor vehicle accident with unknown personal injury at Farm Road and North Street. Officer requested a tow.

9:06 a.m. – Special hunt at the field OK by Ma. Government Agency.

12:23 p.m. – Caller reported cars drag racing on Noon Hill Road. Officer checked the area and reported nothing found.

1:01 p.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for his wife on North Street. Ambulance enroute with patient to Natick.

2:28 p.m. – Caller from Main Street called to request an officer’s assistance. Her son was stuck in the car seat and she could not get him out. Officer reported he cut the seat belt off.

9:01 p.m. – Man came into the station to report a tree down on Hartford Street. Officer requested Ed Hinkley, who notified Bob Kennedy Jr. Ed Hinkley reported he would move the branch.

9:25 p.m. – Officer O’Neil reported someone hit a fence on Causeway Street. Homeowner said it was caused by a Verizon worker a few days ago.

9:57 p.m. – Officer reported smashed glass in front of Rocky Woods.

Sunday, Oct. 2:

10:14 a.m. – Fire Department reported it was out at Nauset Street for a gas leak. Gas company was notified.

10:26 a.m. – Individual came into the station to speak to officer in regard to a situation at work in Westwood.

12:49 p.m. – Officer issued a motor vehicle operator a citation on South Street.

10:15 p.m. – Caller reported she had an animal in her kitchen and she was trying to get it to run out the door. She wanted the Animal Control officer notified. Officer responded to assist because there is no Animal Control officer on duty during the weekend. Officer reported the animal is now in the fire place and Animal Control will be called in the morning.

Monday, Oct. 3:

4:02 a.m. – Caller reported a car drove into his house on Harding Street. Officer reported driver was not with the car and the officer would like Assured Collision towing notified. Desk officer spoke to the driver’s father, who tried calling his son’s cell phone. At 5:55 a.m., the son’s mother and owner came into the station to speak to the sergeant on duty about the motor vehicle accident. Accident reports were filed and the incident is currently under investigation by Medfield Police. Check back at Medfield Patch for more information when it becomes available.
