The following Activities will be held at the Medfield Public Library from Aug 13 - Sept 8....check out the schedule and the pictures!!

Medfield Public Library announces upcoming activities August 13th - September 8th!

Blood Pressure screening with Debbie Bernabi

Monday, August 13, 10:30-11:30 p.m.
Free; no registration required
Please join Medfield's Public Health nurse, Debbie Bernabi, at the Medfield Public Library the 2nd Monday of the month from 10:30-11:30 to get your blood pressure checked and to ask your simple health questions and questions about home and community-based care. If Debbie doesn't know, she will certainly find out! We are pleased to be working with the town of Medfield and Debbie to be bringing this important service to our patrons!
Parachute Play
Monday, August 13, 10:15-10:55 a.m. or 11:00-11:40 a.m.
Free; registration required
Children and their caregivers can ring around the parachute with music, games, a story and a craft! Ages 2-4 with an adult. Register for one of the two sessions please. Space is limited.
Libraries Rock Painting!
Wednesday, August 15, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Free; registration required
That’s our theme this summer so decorate one rock to take and one for the library. All supplies provided. Bring a playlist to listen to while we paint! Grades 6 – 12. Please register as space is limited.
Make A Book
Thursday, August 16, 10:30-1:00 p.m.
Free; registration required
Design and bind your own book to use as a journal, scrap book, photo album, sketchbook, or....?!? We'll have everything you need but feel free to bring interesting paper, old postcards and greeting cards or even cardboard, paper and envelopes out of your recycle bin! Ages 15 and up are welcome. Please register as space is limited.
Bernadette's 2nd & 3rd Grade Fun
Thursday, August 16, 4:45-5:45 p.m.
Free; registration required
Join other kids your age for creative fun! We'll be making Cardboard Games - board games, arcade games, or whatever else you want to make out of recycled materials. For incoming 2nd & 3rd graders. Please register as space is limited.
Music Makers
Monday, August 20, 10:30-11:00 a.m. or 11:05-11:35 a.m.

Enhance your little one's love of music during this 30 minute bonding time, with songs, dance and movement

Come celebrate the close of another summer of fun and learning. Join us outside at Gazebo Park to sing and
dance along to the musical talents of Stefilia's Little Stones and enjoy a cold treat too. It's the perfect excuse
to pack a picnic lunch and come early with the family! All ages welcome! In the event of rain, we will relocate inside to the Dailey Room.

Artist Reception: Colleen Sullivan

The library will host a casual artist’s reception for Colleen Sullivan. Her photography is currently on display in the Dailey Room through August 31, and this is a chance to meet the artist and mingle. In addition to being a gifted photographer, Colleen has been a Medfield resident for over 30 years, is an editor for the Medfield Patch, a Medfield Lion, and a Medfield Library Trustee. Refreshments will be served and everyone is invited to join us.
Pillowcase Make-A-Thon!
Tuesday, September 4, 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Come in and make a pillowcase (or two!) for kids battling cancer! Ryan's Case for Smiles is hoping to collect
44,000 pillowcases this month, one for every child in cancer treatment across the country. All the pillowcases we make here will be distributed to hospitals in our area. All supplies will be provided, but if you'd like to donate fabric please email me for details/regulations. No sewing experience necessary. Please register as space is limited.
