Medfield Public Schools Supt. Marsden Receives President's Award

Medfield School Committee is pleased to announce that M.A.S.S. has honored Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden with its 2023 President's Award

Medfield Public Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden Receives M.A.S.S. President's Award

The Medfield School Committee is pleased to announce that the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.) has honored Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden with its 2023 President’s Award.

The President’s Award is given annually to member superintendents for outstanding service to public education and the Association. Presentations were made during the M.A.S.S. Spring
Conference in Marlborough on May 25.

Superintendent Marsden is completing his 17th year as a superintendent and M.A.S.S. member -- 10 of those years being with the Medfield Public Schools.

Marsden was recognized for his collaborative leadership style, ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the school community, and personal commitment to excellence.

"We are thrilled to see Dr. Marsden recognized with the President’s Award," said Medfield School Committee Chairperson Tim Knight. "We are used to seeing his personal commitment to excellence in action as he sets a high bar in every aspect of leading our schools, while constantly centering his decision-making around the safety and well-being of our kids.”

Superintendent Marsden has served as co-president of the Tri-County Round table for several years and also was recognized for providing consistent, long-term support for the region in this role.

Through his membership in M.A.S.S., Marsden has also served as a member of the Association's Executive Committee and has represented M.A.S.S. on the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Football Committee and the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police School Safety Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for both the ACCEPT Education Collaborative and The Education Cooperative (TEC).

"We have a profound appreciation for Superintendent Marsden's leadership, expertise, and unwavering dedication to educational excellence," Said Vice-Chairperson Michelle Kirkby. "His
work not only benefits our students and educators in Medfield but also supports districts and colleagues in our region and statewide."

M.A.S.S. also presented President’s Awards to Billerica Superintendent Tim Piwowar, Mendon-Upton Regional School District Superintendent Maureen Cohen, and Springfield Superintendent Daniel Warwick.
