Medfield residents graduate from The Rivers School in Weston

Four Medfield residents were among 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 10.

WESTON, MA— Four Medfield residents were among 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 10.

Eleanor J. Branka, co-captain of the varsity field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse teams, received the Senior Award for Exceptional Dedication to Athletics at the Varsity Awards Evening, awarded to three-season scholar-athletes, as well as the ISL Award of Excellence. She also received many other awards during her athletic career, including the Red Wing Award, ISL Honorable Mention, and NEPSAC All-Tournament for field hockey. She was a Red Key tour guide and a talented artist, earning Honorable Mention in the 2015 Scholastic Art and Writing competition for her sculpture. The daughter of Jerry and Emily Branka, Ellie will attend Connecticut College in the fall.

Kaitlin I. Davidson, an honor roll student, was both a player on and manager of the varsity soccer team. A Scholar-Athlete Award recipient, she also managed the boys’ varsity hockey team this year. In her free time, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Perkins School for the Blind, and traveled extensively, including to her native Australia. The daughter of Kim and Kathleen Davidson, Kaitlin will attend Villanova University in the fall.

Julia M. Sprofera, a high honor roll student, was a four-year member of the varsity girls’ soccer and girls’ basketball teams, helping the soccer team to two NEPSAC Class B championships and two Independent School League championships. She was a dedicated volunteer with TOPSoccer, an organization that teaches soccer to athletes with disabilities, and went on the New Orleans service trip during spring break of her junior year. The daughter of Salvatore and Michele Sprofera, Julia will attend Wake Forest University in the fall.

Natalia M. Sprofera, who earned high honors, was a teacher’s assistant in the math department as a senior, and her artwork twice earned honorable mentions from the Small Independent School Art League Exhibition. Tali was a four-year member of the varsity girls’ soccer and girls’ basketball teams, and a key player as the soccer team successfully won two NEPSAC Class B championships and two Independent School League championships. The daughter of Salvatore and Michele Sprofera, Tali will attend Wake Forest University in the fall.
