Medfield Public Schools Awarded Grant Funding for School Safety and Security Enhancements

Superintendent Jeffrey J. Marsden is pleased to announce that Medfield Public Schools was recently awarded grant funding to enhance school safety and security measures.

The $43,967 grant was awarded by the state Executive Office of Public Safety and Security as part of the Safer Schools and Communities Initiative. Medfield is one of 42 Massachusetts school districts to receive this grant.

The funds will be used to expand the outdoor camera use in Medfield elementary schools and replace an obsolete alarm system at Medfield High School.

"On behalf of the entire district, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Healey-Driscoll Administration for this grant," said Superintendent Marsden. "This grant will allow us to enhance our schools' safety features and provide a secure learning environment for our students, staff, and administrators."

The funding will be used to make school safety infrastructure improvements including security enhancements at building entrances, installation of new interior doors, and the addition
or upgrading of central communication systems to support staff communication in cases of emergency.

Superintendent Marsden would also like to thank Medfield Director of Technology Eoin O'Corcora for spearheading this safety initiative.
