Medfield Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) celebrates 2022 and announces 2023 meetings and workshops
Medfield SEPAC’s mission is to work for the understanding of, respect for, and support of all children with special needs in the community.
Our role as a parent council is to advise the district on matters pertaining to children with special needs; share information and discuss matters of common concern and interest; offer speaker events, workshops, and other programs for families and children; and fund raise to support the schools and award scholarships. Children with Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504s comprise 22% of the student population.
In 2022, SEPAC provided support and advocacy for families with students on Individual Education Plans (IEP)and 504 plans, funded four scholarships for graduating seniors, sponsored the water table at the Medfield Foundations Angel Run (it's the only one!), hosted monthly meetings, including updates from the Director of Student Services, timely topics with guest speakers, and open forums for members. SEPAC also sponsored additional workshops, including partnering with the Medfield School district on a presentation by Temple Grandin!
