Spring Greening EVENTS of the Sustainable Medfield Network

April 28 – Eco-Centric Book Club 6:30 – 7:30. This month’s book is Walden Warming: Climate Change Comes to Thoreau's Woods by Richard Primack. Details on the library website.

April 30 - MANY EVENTS- Spring Greening Fair 9 - 2. Hosted on the grounds of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 26 North Street. Supported by Needham Bank.

  • Indoor Yard Sale 9-2 (First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church) 26 North St. Reuse!
  • Electric Yard Care Equipment Demonstration 11-1. (Medfield Energy Committee). Talk to Medfield resident Eric Shand about all of the benefits electric lawn care equipment has to offer and the incentives you can take advantage of if you buy electric in 2022. In addition, Eric will have his own battery powered lawn mower, weed whacker, and leaf blower on site for interested patrons to test out. Highly recommended for anyone thinking of buying new equipment or generally interested in learning more about battery powered equipment.
  • TOMCAP Porch Chat at 11am &12 noon (Medfield Energy Committee). Hear a quick overview of the town’s Climate Action Plan and have an opportunity to ask Dr. Hilli Passas questions. 15-minute overview of the plan at 11am & 12 noon with informal Q&A in between.
  • Yard Composting and Food Scrap program information 11-1 (Transfer Station & Recycling Committee). Come learn how yard waste can be used to help your garden & how those pesky food scraps can be diverted from your trash & used in agriculture. We will be selling yard composting bins for $25+tax, which is a highly discounted price.
  • Green Groups Welcome Tent 11-1. Visit with representatives of Sustainable Medfield, Medfield Environment Action, Medfield Energy Committee and the Transfer Station & Recycling Committee. Learn more about each of the groups and how you can get involved and learn from them.
  • Coloring Table 11 – 1 – stop by and color the net zero town vignette and enter the Sustainable Medfield drawing for a $50 and $25 gift certificate.
  • Sweet Sophie Scents 11-1 – Soy wax candles. 26% of profits go to Dana Farber.
  • New Life Furniture Bank collection 10 - 2. Check here for accepted items.
  • (*Please NOTE: The SWAP Committee is encouraging any LARGE FURNITURE Donations be given to New Life Furniture Bank if possible - look at list of accepted items, as SWAP will NOT be ACCEPTING Large Furniture).
