Local teen spoke at January Women's Day March!

On January 19th, YW Boston joined the 2019 Boston Women's March: Until All Voices Are Heard at Boston Common. The march, organized by March Forward Massachusetts, provided a platform to focus on the ongoing work of those who fight daily for equity and justice.

Isabella Brooke, Medfield resident and junior at Beaver Country Day, spoke at the Women’s
Day March. She represented the YW Boston Youth Initiative, a Boston based non-profit whose mission is to empower women and eliminate racism.

Isabella, seen on the far right, is passionate about social justice and promoting change in her community. She states, "Ikraam, Miranda and I, were given the most incredible opportunity as members of InIt, a social leadership program for teens, to represent youth activists in and around the Boston area. We wrote this speech together and as we were the second group of speakers, we needed to pump up the crowd. We felt that talking about the need to work and engage in conversations about making change was the best way to do so."
