Medfield is Thankful for its Teachers!

Community members take part in grassroots effort to show appreciation

In keeping with the Thanksgiving season, Medfield parents and community members have jumped on board a grassroots campaign to show appreciation for teachers.

So far, nearly 100 lawn signs have been placed around town with the message, "We're thankful...Medfield Teachers...the heart (sign) of our schools." One parent was so excited about jumping on board that she placed 15 signs on her property along Rte. 27.

In addition to the signs, parents have been submitting testimonials about teachers and sharing stories about the impact they've made on their children, and signing up to engage in other efforts. "Teachers" is loosely defined to mean a variety of educators in Medfield public schools (including aides, specialists, nurses, guidance counselors), as well as teachers in other environments such as after-school programs, preschools and daycare centers.

Said one parent, "All five of my children are in the Medfield school system or have graduated from Medfield, and I can’t say enough about how kind, helpful, caring and loving each and everyone of their teachers were or are currently. My family is beyond blessed and thankful to have moved to Medfield and to have been able to educate our children here!!"

While lawn signs have almost run out, anyone interested in joining the effort and future initiatives can sign on here. Keep the great teacher testimonials coming!
