Medfield Celebrated Arbor Day at Vine Lake Cemetery
Thursday was a chilly morning but it was an important morning to be at Vine Lake Cemetery to recognize this year's Medfield ARBOR DAY planting.
Medfield Select Board member Gus Murby read the official Arbor Day Proclamation in front the newly planted yellow Magnolia tree.
In attendance in addition to Select Board member Murby were Dept of Public Works Director Maurice Goulet, Tree Warden Ed Hinkley, DPW Highway Supervisor Bobby Kennedy, DPW Vine Lake's Steve Della-Camera, John Miner and Paul Hinkley as well as Assistant to the Town Administrator Brittney Franklin.

Ten years ago Town Administrator Kristine Trierweiler led the charge in getting Medfield to become a "Tree City" and celebrating by planting a tree each year in recognition of Arbor Day. Although Trierweiler wasn't able to attend this year's ceremony, she takes great pride in this annual ceremony.
The following is a list of Medfield plantings and years honoring Arbor Day:
