Medfield's Kathy Thompson Receives Proclamation

At the November 28, 2023 Select Board Meeting, State Representative Denise Garlick surprised recently retired Medfield Public School head nurse and Board of Health member, Kathy Thompson with a proclamation from the State Legislature recognizing her for her dedication and commitment to the well being of every staff member and student in the Medfield Public Schools.

Garlick read a proclamation exclaiming that the "Commonwealth of Massachusetts and House of Representatives offer sincere congratulations to Kathy Thompson in recognition of her care and compassion as a school nurse for all Medfield students and their families and for extraordinary efforts for all residents of Medfield especially during the declared Covid emergency pandemic."

In attendance at the meeting in addition to Representative Garlick and the Select Board was Kathy's husband Newton Thompson, Board of Health Chair Stephen Resch, Board of Health member Carol Reed, Board of Health member Melissa Coughlin, Board of Health member Holly Rand, Superintendent of Schools Jeffrey Marsden, Dale St. School Principal Steve Grenham, Dale St. School secretary Anne Gilberti, Blake Middle School nurse Tricia Williams, substitute nurse Liz Sandeman and Public Health nurse Brenda Healy. Kathy received many well deserved congratulations and a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
