New Summer Adventures at Rocky Woods in Medfield include Brew Moon Hikes, Discovering the Property, and A New Program Lineup for All Ages

This summer the Trustees welcome the warm weather with many exciting programs and events at Rocky Woods in Medfield, MA.

Grab your boots, yoga mats, and friends and join us for hiking, stretching, and exploration! In addition to the events below, Rocky Woods will provide canoes and fishing poles for rent each weekend, a family fishing clinic every Sunday, and snacks in the Chickering Cabin Visitor Center. All rentals and concessions will be available Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm so stop by!

Forest Flow Yoga
What: Join us every Wednesday throughout the summer for a fun, nature-inspired, all-levels vinyasa power flow that provides empowerment through mindful breathing, sensory stimulation, and accessible sequencing to challenge and relax! Welcoming all students alike with modifications and intensifiers, this outdoor sunset class will practice tools for flexibility, momentum, and playful experimentation. Let the fresh forest air rejuvenate yogis of all ages, balancing a sweaty summer workout with a quiet intention of mindfulness, health, restoration, and 'ahimsa' (non-violence) to your body and your spirit. Just bring your own yoga mat!

Brew Moon Hike: Craft Roots Brewing
What: Grab your hiking boots and join us on a hike guided by lunar light, topped off with local brews! Rain or shine, we'll be hiking some of Rocky Woods most beautiful trails and wrapping up at Chickering Cabin to get boozy. Each month will feature samples of local beers paired with perfect post-hike snacks and a social session in our visitor's center with your fellow trekkers. Camping out afterwards is a fun and safe option to end the night. July will feature Craft Roots Brewing based in Milford, MA. 21+ and registration required.

Shakespeare in the Woods
What: Join the Gazebo Players of Medfield for their first performance of the 2017 season, and their first
time ever at Rocky Woods! This summer's production, The Merchant of Venice, will be sure to delight all audiences, old and young. With two performances at Rocky Woods, two at Powisset Farm in Dover, and two at Bird Park in Walpole, you've got no excuse! So pack up the family, a blanket and chairs, and enjoy a summer of theater with the Trustees.

Forest Fairy Houses
What:The fairies, elves, nymphs of our forests and your backyards have been building homes and villages for generations, and they love human help! Join us in July to build a home for some magical woodland creatures. Materials will be available to create a fairy house to take home and you'll learn the basics of fairy house
construction so you can build some structures to add to the Fairy Village being constructed along our trails!
When: 7/11, 7/12, 7/18, 7/19, 2-3:30PM

Discoveries at Dusk
What:Rocky Woods is a special place all day long, but it's especially special as the sun goes down. Bring
the whole family to the forest after dinner for nighttime discoveries and sweet treats by the fire. Each week we'll explore different parts of the property such as fireflies in the field, bats in the sky, peepers in the
pond, and hoot owls on the hills! Bring a blanket, some bug spray, a flashlight, and a sense of adventure. We'll provide classic summer snacks like s’mores and ice cream to enjoy by the campfire.
