Officials Honor Paul Hinkley at Tilden Village Holiday Dinner

Retirement recognized with dedication of community room in his name amidst resident gathering.

When Paul Hinkley was hired in April 1992 as the sole facilities employee at Tilden Village, little did he know he'd be honored for his tenure with Medfield Housing Authority nearly 30 years later.

An estimated 60 people were in attendance for his recent retirement party and the annual Tilden Village holiday dinner for residents, including state and town officials, family members, and even carolers. Together they recognized Paul Hinkley for his dedication to the town and his ability to create a strong sense of community.

Among those honoring Hinkley were State Representatives Denise Garlick and Shawn Dooley who presented him with a proclamation from Massachusetts House of Representatives, and Board of Selectmen Chair Mike Marcucci who recited a town proclamation.

Medfield Housing Authority (MHA) Executive Director Candace Avery, MHA Chair Lisa Donovan, and MHA Vice Chair Eileen DeSorgher spearheaded the evening festivities.

A highlight of the night was the surprise announcement by Donovan that the Tilden Village community room would be dedicated to Paul Hinkley.

“Paul has had an enormous impact on hundreds of Tilden residents. There was no gift more fitting than naming the community room after him. We wish Paul the best during his well-deserved retirement,” said Avery.

While Paul Hinkley officially retired on Nov. 30, he will help out at Tilden Village until a replacement is hired.
