A peaceful protest was held in Medfield on Saturday, March 7th, against Citizens Bank's financing of ICE Detention Centers.

Peaceful Protest In Medfield Against Citizen Bank

On Saturday, March 7th, an estimated 40+ people from Medfield and neighboring towns turned out to line Main Street (across the street from Citizens Bank)to peacefully protest Citizens Bank's financing of ICE Detention Centers. Many other protests were also held in different locations in Massachusetts and other states on the same day.

The Boston Globe reported on March 6th, "After successfully pressing Avelo Airlines to end deportation flights for the federal government, anti-ICE protesters are ramping up pressure on another corporate target: Providence-based Citizens Bank.

Protests are planned at more than 60 Citizens branches on Saturday [March 7th] across more than a dozen states including Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Their goal: to decry the bank’s business dealings with prison management companies CoreCivic and GEO Group, which run a number of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers."
